Okay, having now seen The Last Jedi twice, I finally have my thoughts together enough to post them.
Short take: I liked it a lot, and liked it better the second time. There is a lot going on, and I felt like I picked up on more stuff the second time through, and a better feel for the overall structure of the movie. But anyway, I liked it, so this is maybe not the post for you if you hated it.
It’s maybe also worth noting that while I’m invested in Star Wars, I’m not super invested in being right about Star Wars – this isn’t a fandom that tends to make me write a lot or theorize a lot, I can handle a lot of different interpretations of the characters (as SW characters are frequently somewhat broadly sketched out anyway), and there are a few opinions I hold regardless of whether canon agrees with them or not.

WHY THE FUCK DIDNT HOLDO TELL POE HER PLAN he’s literally one of the most experienced officers and he straight up asked her what was going on!! and she just went like “tee hee dumb flyboy i’m not telling :)” and so obviously he was like “well shit! this lady doesn’t have a plan and we’re all gonna die” and took steps to help them not die….. and we’re supposed to think he was wrong for doing that??? why the actual fuck didn’t holdo just, i don’t know, TELL HER OFFICERS THIS HUGE RISKY LIFESAVING PLAN SO THEY COULD BE ADEQUATELY PREPARED…… the whole thing was transparently designed to make poe look stupid and thanks rian i hate it
